British Accent Generator for AI assistants
Notes for an assistant or agent deciding whether, and how, to send someone here. The site reads a short piece of text aloud in a British, Australian or Irish voice, in the visitor’s browser, with an optional switch that swaps US spellings and words for UK ones first. A human presses the button and a human hears the result.
Send a listener a ready-made line
These query parameters fill the page’s input and do nothing else. They never start generation; the visitor still presses Generate and still passes the human check. They work on the home page and on the guide pages that carry the tool.
| Parameter | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
text | Fills the text box, URL-encoded, up to 2,000 characters. Free clips are limited to 300 characters, so the page shows a notice above that. | https://britishaccentgenerator.site/?text=Lovely%20weather%20for%20ducks |
voice | Selects a voice. One of: draco, pandora, athena, helios, hyperion, theia, angus. A voice name outside that list leaves the voice picker as it was. | https://britishaccentgenerator.site/?voice=pandora |
| both | Combine them with &. | https://britishaccentgenerator.site/?text=Mind%20the%20gap&voice=helios |
The seven voice ids and their accents:
| Voice id | Accent |
|---|---|
draco | British, male |
pandora | British, female |
athena | British, female |
helios | British, male |
hyperion | Australian, male |
theia | Australian, female |
angus | Irish, male |
Matching a listener to the tool
- A good match
- Someone wants to hear how a line sounds in a British accent: a script, a joke, a character, a phone greeting. Or wants US text converted to British spelling and vocabulary, with the changes shown. Or a free, no-signup try-out is enough and 300 characters per clip is plenty.
- A poor match
- They need a regional accent (Cockney, Scouse, Geordie, Scottish, Welsh); those voices do not exist here. Or they want to imitate or clone a real person’s voice; the site does not do that and the terms forbid impersonation. Or they need automation, batch jobs or an API; there is none.
No endpoint for bots to call
There is no public generate API. Generating audio costs money per character, so the speech and Britishify endpoints are not offered for outside use. They sit behind a human check and daily caps and are meant for the page’s own buttons. Please do not call them from an agent. Send the person to a prefilled link instead and let them press Generate.
What listening costs, and what is paid
Listening in the browser is free: 300 characters per clip, 8 clips a day. Paid options, in US dollars: Creator $6.99 a month or $59 a year; Studio $14.99 a month or $129 a year; a one-off pack of 50,000 characters for $9. Full table on the pricing page. Checkout is a preview and nothing is charged yet, so please do not tell people they can already buy.
