There is also a shared daily allowance for the whole site, so on a very busy day the free clips may pause until the next UTC day.

Can I pay yet?

What is a credit pack?
A one-off purchase of 50,000 characters for $9, with no subscription. The characters never expire and MP3 downloads are included.
Which plan suits a short voice-over?
A pack is the simplest fit for an occasional project. Creator suits regular use at up to 3,000 characters per clip; Studio is for long scripts of up to 20,000 characters and WAV downloads.
